We are now calling for registrations for SCBWI West's popular annual Rottnest Retreat and Mainland Program.
This year’s Mainland Program is on Saturday 9 June 2018, with the retreat taking place from Sunday 10 June to Wednesday 13 June 2018. The program is packed with professional development sessions, fun activities, and plenty of time for relaxing with a notebook and a glass of wine.
Our interstate guests this year are: Susannah Chambers, Commissioning Editor at Allen & Unwin, and Suzanne O’Sullivan, Publisher of Children’s Books at Hachette. Susannah and Suzanne will be conducting interactive workshops as well as paid one-on-one critique sessions.
And from our own backyard, Fremantle Press Children’s Publisher Cate Sutherland will join us for our Mainland Program sessions as well as mainland critiques.
See the links at the top right for more information regarding the Mainland Events, Rottnest Program and Presenters.
The Rottnest Retreat is a SCBWI West professional development event and is open to members only.
In general, we are not able to accept share arrangements involving non-members, even where they are family members or partners of a registered member. Where a member books a single room it is understood that the room will be single occupancy only. Exceptions may be possible where special circumstances apply; to discuss, please contact Regional Advisor Kelly Canby before registering.
In the first instance, registration will be accepted from SCBWI West members only. PAL members of other regions may register interest via email. We will contact you if spaces become available.
With a variety of different events to choose from, there’s something for everyone, including workshops, presentations, critique sessions, and the controlled mayhem of the ever-popular Rottnest Pitch session.
